Approach
Your voice matters. Say what’s on your heart. The right people will listen with love, not judgment. My approach is always caring and compassionate, and integrates evidence-based methods, creating a space where you feel supported and respected. Collaboratively, we will work together to help you feel grounded, safe and free to be yourself without fear of judgment. Ultimately, you will be able to respond to challenges with confidence, building healthy relationships and trusting your own emotions.
Modalities
Trauma-Informed
Care
This approach recognizes the widespread impact of trauma and prioritizes safety, trust, and empowerment. It focuses on understanding how past experiences influence present behavior and ensures that therapy avoids re-traumatization while supporting healing and resilience.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
DBT combines acceptance and change strategies to help clients regulate emotions, improve relationships, and tolerate distress. It’s especially effective for individuals who experience intense emotions or struggle with self-destructive behaviors.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT helps clients identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. It focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions—teaching practical skills to manage anxiety, depression, and other challenges more effectively.

Mindfulness
Mindfulness therapy encourages present-moment awareness and nonjudgmental observation of thoughts and feelings. By cultivating calm attention and self-compassion, clients can reduce stress and gain greater emotional balance.

Philosophy
The lotus flower is a powerful symbol of resilience, growth and transformation. Its ability to grow from murky, muddy water into a beautiful bloom reflects how people can transform difficult experiences into a source of strength and beauty. The flower's journey from the depths to the surface is a powerful metaphor for finding hope and undergoing profound personal transformation through challenging circumstances.

My vision and hope for Lotus Therapy and Counseling Services is that I can help support my clients as they move through pain, trauma and life’s challenges to discover clarity, strength and renewed hope. My goal is to provide a safe, compassionate space where women and members of the LGTBQ+ community can untangle patterns from the past, cultivate self-compassion and blossom into their most authentic selves, just like the lotus that opens and moves toward the light.
